Buy it if you have friends to play with and like intense action games.. Very fun addicting indie game. great controller support.. Somewhat geometry wars game springs to mind when playing this with the feel of it, enjoyable game to play and well worth the price. Not tried multi-player yet but from what i have played of it, i would think i will enjoy it.Defo worth a bash iif your a fan of Gemometry Wars. Most. Intense. Versus. Game. Ever.. INVERSUS Deluxe is a game all about skill. you need to kill enemies, it's simple. but difficult. you have a variety of maps and skins for the map to unlock. so, if you are planning on paying full price... i'd tell you wait for a sale. it's not worth the price.. This game is amazing. The only thing that sucks is the playerbase being small.Other than that, this game is Amazing, the controls are smooth and the graphics are nice. the main idea of shooting to cover turf is pulled of flawlessley. Please buy this game and help out the community Online Multiplayer Refined (update 1.3.0): INVERSUS has competition at its core and today we're making big strides towards getting players in matches more often and across more varied game modes!Let’s talk about 2v2 battles. In the past, you could enter 2v2 as a solo player or by first making a team with a friend, but these two groups were matched up separately – solos could only match with solos and teams could only fight other teams. With the new patch, solo players and grouped teams can mix into the same 2v2 game. This means more matches for everyone!Continuing with 2v2 improvements, I’m happy to announce that INVERSUS now supports multiple local players joining an online game! You and a friend can team up on the couch, enter matchmaking from the same computer and fight other players online. In private 2v2 games you can mix local players and online friends in any combination -- even three players at your house playing with one player at a friend’s house. The 1.3 update also changes the cadence of how public matches are played. In the past, you would search for players until the lobby was full. Then you would play continuously with that group until someone dropped out. Games would often last a long time and both players would generally leave in unison. This made it hard to find a match if you joined while all existing lobbies were full. You’ll now get prompted to search for a new opponent after every couple maps in a public game. This will either find any stragglers or rematch with your opponent for another bout.If you want to see how all this works in practice, check out the demo video here! And now let’s dig into the full patch notes for the detailed oriented among you:Primary UpdatesMultiple local players can join in online games together (two in public team games and up to three in private games)Players are asked to re-enter public matchmaking after two matches have been completed (this results in either 2 arcade maps or best of three maps in a versus game)Players in team-based matchmaking and solo-based matchmaking can now play together.Added an introduction animation to online matches showing which players are facing offWorldwide matchmaking kicks in instantly if there are no local matches to be found. This could previously take up to 30 seconds.Added six new emotesMinor UpdatesTwo of the pickups were moved in the map “Pipes” to better utilize the outer ring and create a more interesting flow.Slightly increased the enemy ship hit box in arcade mode to reduce extreme cases of enemies getting pushed away from adjacently flipped tilesEffects that perform color inversion (e.g. projectile clashes) again render in areas that hang off the tiled map.Flipped the spawn points of team 1 on the map “Tight” to conform with every other mapMade minor adjustments to a few color palettes that needed some loveAdded digit grouping to large scores making them easier to read. INVERSUS Free Weekend Active Now: This weekend everyone and their friends can try out INVERSUS Deluxe for free on Steam! The free trial period goes from 10AM this morning until 10AM Sunday morning (pacific time) and the game will be on sale for 50% off until Tuesday! With continued support, INVERSUS has grown leaps and bounds since the base game launched on last year and now that the Deluxe expansion is out, it's time to celebrate! Please spread the word and then head online and welcome all the new level 1 players giving INVERSUS a visit.. Patch 1.2.0 – Colors, Emotes, Leveling and More!: This patch is absolutely full of features and fixes so let’s dig in! Want to see how the big new features work? I’ll give you a walkthrough in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2ny-6cTvO4 Primary Updates. 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 Patches - Small fixes: A couple small updates went live yesterday and today. For those interested, the first one addressed a minor visual bug with some particle locations. The second one addressed a rare audio crash when the game outpaced the sound card. The next big update is coming soon. Keep an eye out for a preview at PAX this weekend!. Patch Notes 1.7.8: Version 1.7.8 is a very minor update. For players with the full game, this adds some improvements to audio quality on Windows 7. This update is also available for the demo version which hasn't been patched in a long while. It now has all the latest fixes, etc that have been added to the full game.. Patch Notes 1.7.5: There's a new build of the game! So what does it do? Cloud saves are now properly working in the demo app (this was also preventing any save data from being stored by the demo). Both the full game and demo support running with either DirectX 11 or DirectX 9. If you have an older video card and want to use DirectX 9, just right click INVERSUS in your steam library and select the appropriate option to play. Improved error message for when running the DirectX 11 version of the game on an incompatible video card.I also have a request for anyone playing online! The INVERSUS networking tech depends on each player's computer generating the exact same results. With the new addition of separate DX11 and DX9 builds of the game, it is a bit trickier to make sure they remain perfectly the same (I'll skip the details of why). If an online game does ever go out of sync, it results in a "Network Error Occured" message. Things look to be pretty stable, but if you do start seeing this error message, let me know by emailing support@hypersect.com so I can fix any issues!. INVERSUS Deluxe - Free expansion this fall!: Last time we talked, I was working away on the 1.5 update. Then I started adding more content. Then I decided to add some more new features. I certainly wasn't done adding more unlocks. And then I went and gave the whole thing a big visual upgrade. Looking back at the current game and what I had been building, I realized that it had become this giant beast of an update and just bumping the version number wasn't enough. This needed a name!INVERSUS Deluxe is still going to be a free update for all existing players and it will be the version of the game launching on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. You can check out the trailer here (it's a Nintendo Switch trailer, but it's the same update you'll be getting):•12 new versus maps and 4 new arcade maps create a total of 50 unique maps for players to enjoy.•Test your skills in the new single-player versus mode by facing off against AI Bots that scale in difficulty from beginner to world-class player.•The addition of ranked online multiplayer rewards skill in both 1v1 and 2v2 games.•New real-time soft shadows and high definition materials add a depth and richness to the screen.•With the new split-shot ammo, players can fork bullets and shoot around corners.•Equipping new unlockable motion trails allow players to show off personality in the arena.. New versus, arcade and lobby features! (update 1.4.0): Today's update adds improvements across all parts of the game. There are new game settings to customize your versus matches, new challenges for your arcade games, and a better lobby experience for your online games! So what is new in versus mode? I've added some new settings that let you customize the rules. These are available in local games and private online games. Public online matches always play by the standard rule set. First up, you can change how much ammo players get. This has a large impact on the pacing and risk/reward of taking a shot. The second new option adjusts what types of pickups can spawn on a map. You can either turn pickups off completely or make them random per round. With random pickups, you'll find all sorts of new surprising encounters! How about arcade mode? Your performance on maps is now rated with a three star system. Each map has set goals in the solo and cooperative modes. Earning stars unlocks more maps and lets you brag to your friends. If you've already unlocked arcade maps with the old system, don't worry. Your existing unlocks will remain intact regardless of how many stars you have. What's new with online lobbies? Previously, INVERSUS had the "Play Arcade While Waiting" feature in public lobbies. This was a big hit but there was room for improvement. You could only play solo arcade mode which was great for most cases, but not great for when you had a friend over and wanted to search for some 2v2 games as a team. With INVERSUS 1.4, you can now play any of the local game modes from any public lobby! This includes 1v1, 2v2 and coop arcade! For a video demo of the bigger items, click right here. For all the little details, see below!Primary Updates Local and private versus games have new options for tweaking the game rules. These can be found under the options button when selecting players for the game. Change the number of shots each player gets (between 2 and 6) Change which pickups spawn on the map (standard, random, or disabled) The setting for points needed to win the match has also been moved to this menu. When starting a local game, there is a new menu for choosing which controllers control which ships. The old "game options" menu and the "clear high scores" option have been removed. A new "clear save data" menu can be found under options instead. When a pickup is spawning, you can see which type of pickup it is. No longer do the spawn animations always look like a circle. Arcade maps feature a three star rating system based on score. Arcade maps are now unlocked with total stars acquired instead of a cumulative score from the prior map. Note that if you already had an arcade map unlocked, it will remain unlocked regardless of meeting the necessary star requirements. When in a lobby, the "play arcade while waiting" option has been replaced with "start local game while wating" and players can now play local games in any game mode. Play 1v1 with a friend on the couch while waiting together in a team lobby! When returning to the lobby from a "play while waiting" game, players can now decide to start a new game or resume the old game. Previously, the old game was always resumed. The arcade map "Free" has been tuned to start off slightly slower and spawn less ranged enemies. Go beat those high scores!Minor Updates The first few maps in the basic tutorial have been adjusted to feature a single player instead of two players. Added nine new emotes to unlock. The menu indicator for new unlocks is now a diamond instead of a star. Drop down menus now play audio when navigating the items. Fixed a bug where the multiplier display in arcade games could remain blinking due to a mispredicted death in online play. It is now easier to see unselected emote icons in the customize menu.
